The press has been doing its best to show how truly useless they are in helping people to understand the why's and wherefores, as we've seen. There's simply too much bad reporting out there to even bother deconstructing it. The mainstream press really is an ally of terror.

Israel should drop leaflets over gaza, calling for a halt in the attack, for 12 hours, to let civilian hamasstanians leave for south gaza.
Anyone left in the north is subject to retaliatory strikes in response to rockets launched from gaza into Israel.
I hope AP, AFP, Reuters reporters stay in north gaza to monitor that hamas permits civilians to leave for the south, or report that hamas is blocking civilians from leaving.
hamas uses civilians as Human Shields.
