Rumor has it that Ron Francis has been walking the halls with his sign, "Israel is an Apartheid State" -- I kid you not.

NO outside observers have been allowed in the classes. Tom Meyer's son, Richie, was there and was actually asked to leave a class (I have some "interesting" emails from him I may just post some day).

Wheels of Justice has been distributing sign-up sheets in the classes for the kids to get on their mailing list.

Principal Peter Anderson has had a lawyer by his side most of the day.

Heard anything? Email me at solomon a t solomonia d o t com.

Don't forget, the public event is 7PM TONIGHT at the High School. Plan on being there, early. There has been a call for people to be there as early as 5:30, so get there as soon as you can.

[Update: Anderson has stated he will have protesters removed from school property due to "safety concerns," so be prepared to assemble on public space.]

Here's a background piece on one of the speakers, Joe Carr, or is it Smith...what name is he using today...from Demember '05. Well worth reading in full. Here's a snip: A Foot Soldier in the Enemy's Trenches

"I am an anarchist; I seek to tear down hierarchies in my personal interactions, organizing structures, & society at large. I am a revolutionary; this US-dominated global capitalist system is inherently flawed & I aim to help accelerate its inevitable collapse & create a truly sustainable & egalitarian society. I work for peace in my personal interactions and I oppose all wars waged by governments to ensure their dominance, but I am NOT a pacifist; I find nonviolent tactics powerful and effective, but violence & property destruction have always been an essential part of revolutionary movements & I support everyone's right to self defense." –ISM activist Joseph Smith

The above quote is a self-description posted on the website of International Solidarity Movement (ISM) activist Joseph Smith. (The ISM is a smokescreen for various PLO anti-Israel and pro-Ba'ath Party groups in Iraq and relies on a few non-profits in the US like the Middle East Children's Alliance in California and Brecht Forum in New York to launder and disperse funds to its subgroups.) The Zelig of revolutionary pilgrims, Smith has been a prominent member of the anti-Israel campaign waged by radical agitators...

The ISM is known for taking young American kids and intentionally putting them in harm's way with the knowledge that any injury or death will be able to be used as a propaganda tool. It's happened...both injury and death. Carr is recruiting in Andover High School today.

Carr/Smith's website is worth looking at and illuminating.

The Eagle-Tribune quotes:

Carr's Web site says it is "dedicated to the overthrow of the U.S.-led global capitalist oppression" and displays the symbol for anarchy.

Carr/Smith's battle is in Andover High as you read this.

Ron Francis comes off as a foppish, boorish, self-regarding egoist and clown. And this at a high-school? Andover, in the process, comes off as a prop in a Leslie Nielsen farce.

Sol,

Are you trying to punish your readers? As a person who has seen emails written by Richie Meyers, I can tell you that they are painful to read. He's a college prof. who can't spell, can't complete a logical thought, and knows practically NOTHING about the Middle East (in a letter to the Townsman, he advanced the theory that Palestinians and Israelis share a lot in come racially).

Eric

I of course meant "a lot in COMMON..."

1) You must have Javascript enabled in your browser in order to comment (blame the spammers). If you don't know what that is, you're probably fine.

2) HTML is on, so basic html should work. Raw links will be made auto-clickable, too, so even if you don't know html you can just paste in the link and it should work fine. Keep the "http://" in it.

3) Comments are generally unmoderated, which means I don't necessarily agree with the tone and tenor of everything posted. In fact, sometimes people post things they don't really mean just to make other people look bad. The internet is an anonymous place for the most part. That said...

4) I welcome you to post here. I'd love to have your input, agree, disagree or just offer a different data point, really. If I didn't want any participation, I'd turn off comments. Anyone who posts here will be treated as my guest. That means I'm happy to be polite as a default, but if anyone is rude to the host they'll be unceremoniously shown the door.

It may pay to recall a famous line from the Tom Selleck magnum opus, Mr. Baseball: "Jack-san, you want Yoji's advice about the babes, you come to Yoji with respect."

5) Enjoy your stay!

"What looked like secularization was merely a veneer laid over a society that had been proudly Muslim for over a millenium. Moreover, the ostensible engine of Arab modernization -- Arab nationalism -- was little more than an elevated tribal covenant."
