Miss Kelly has received a disturbing email. I am going to practice bad blogger-ettiquette and paste her entire post below:

I received an e-mail earlier today from a Pakistani woman who's relative was killed as an honor killing by family members. The family and the police are covering up the murder as a suicide. This woman feels that her life is in danger now, and she desperately needs help. I believe her e-mail is genuine. If you know of an organization or personal contact in Islamabad that can help her (obviously, NOT the police), please send the contact information to me at misskelly99-at-gmail.com. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you very much for your help.

If there is any way to help this woman, please contact or leave a comment with Miss Kelly. Sadly, this is not an uncommon story.

Not in the least to detract, certainly, but in a nearby part of the world, Thailand: Buddhist School Teacher Shot Dead in Front of Pupils, excerpt:

"A Buddhist teacher Prasarn Martchu, 46, was on Monday shot dead in front of a class of schoolchildren in Thailand's southern Narathiwat province - home to most of the country's 4 percent Muslim minority. Martchu's killers disguised themselves as students, police said. They blamed Muslim militants for his murder. The killing prompted some 20 local schools to close indefinitely, an official was quoted as saying.

"The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the Thai south, where more than 1,300 people have been killed since a separatist insurgency began in January 2004. At least 30 teachers have been killed since the beginning of the insurgency." emphases added

Same, as reported in the China Post, excerpt:

"Prasarn is the 44th teacher to have been killed by suspected Muslim militants since 2004, said Sanguan Jintarat, head of the Narathiwat Teachers' Association."
