A quote from the leader of the Liberal-Democrats in the European Parliament, now resigned as leader, Chris Davies. Adloyada has the story: BBC plays down Lib Dem MEP's anti-semitism
With rare and generally extremist exceptions this is about as explicit as the anti-Semitism from the Left gets, whether the soft and muddled left or the hard and absolutist Left.
Firstly, they tend to begin their arguments or discussions from the pov that they're superior (morally, intellectually, socially, politically, aesthetically, etc., etc.) in the first place; secondly they typically and reflexively add disdain into the mix, directed at anyone who "presumes" to question their putative (and much trumpeted) superiority; thirdly, because their anti-Semitism is not directly and obviously connected with undisguised Hitlerian forms, they're convinced it cannot be anti-Semitism in the first place.
Plowing through all of that, a bulwark of obduracy and self-regard if ever there was one, is no small task in the first place; and that's what has to be done even prior to beginning a rational discussion in the first place.
Do I need to say it again? Fine. Europe is BEYOND hope. Any Jew that lives there does so at his or her own peril.
"Syme: It's a beautiful thing, the destruction of words. You wouldn't have seen the [Newspeak] Dictionary 10th edition, would you Smith? It's that thick. [illustrates thickness with fingers] The 11th Edition will be that [narrows fingers] thick. Winston Smith: So, The Revolution will be complete when the language is perfect? Syme: The secret is to move from translation, to direct thought, to automatic response. No need for self-discipline. Language coming from here [the larynx], not from here
[the brain]" -1984 (film)
