Baluchis, like the Kurds in the Mid East, are trying to get a nation of their own. They are also fighting the Pakistani government, which is Sunni-dominated. Nationalism is not unknown in the Muslim world. Note that Pakistan and Bangladesh used to be a single country. Bengalis fought a war of secession, with help from India, to get their own state. Aceh in Indonesia is, of course, also trying to get its independence.
