I'm likely going to attend my 20th High School reunion this Saturday. Five years ago I was dragged along by a fellow classmate who I still have contact with and ended up having a surprisingly good time. There were people there that I was genuinely happy to see, and then there were people who I genuinely had no idea who they were. Maybe I should bring my yearbook with me this time. Nah, that won't work.
Oddly enough, I decided just today to go to my 30th HS reunion this Friday. I was going to blow it off, since I'm in contact with only 3 people from HS. Somewhow the reunion means more as the decades go by, and as some people die. I had previously only attended my 5-year reunion.
Anyway, a great excuse to buy a nice dress! Hmmm, probably should get new (dancin') shoes. And a manicure. We'll see how it goes!
If my apathetic high school ever organized one, I might consider it, despite my antipathy towards the place when I was there (ask my wife; I boo whenever I am back in Montreal and go by the school!). However, time heals all wounds, and I am a different person than I was as a student there. I'd like to think that my fellow grads have also changed..........
