I usually find these kinds of things silly -- like I don't even know how to answer half the questions, but this one was kind of interesting. I guess I can't really argue with the results, although I think I belong farther over on the socially permissive scale. Everyone else was doing it (saw it first at OceanGuy's), so here's mine:

You are a

Social Moderate
(55% permissive)

and an...

Economic Conservative
(66% permissive)

You are best described as a:

Centrist

I'd like to see some results somewhere else on the spectrum. That's about where I came out, and about where everyone else I've seen has come out too.

It is possible, of course, that I read what I like. Or that I'm shaped by what I read. Or both. But it's also possible that the quiz skews that way.

I wound up 75% socially permissive and 70% econmically conservative. Classified as a Libertarian is what it claimed. Of course, I kinda hurried through and noticed only about 3/4 of the way that the wording of some of the questions was a little bit slippery.

I was also thinking that most of the people I read ended up pretty much in the same quarter, although OceanGuy (see link in the entry) didn't. I don't know if it's a matter of like attracting like or a bias in the test.

I also think that -- free of political bagage -- the majority of Americans probably have pretty similar impulses...within limits, you should keep what you earn and mind your own business.

Yeah, I think you are pretty much right with that statement. It's just part of the american mindset which is the older british mindset left to do its thing for the most part. I guess I'm trying to say it's one of those basic qualities that make americans what we are.

P.S.
I retook the test and my results were within 5% on each listing and I'm still libertarian. Keep in mind, I was trying to answer as honestly as I could within the quiz parameters. Also, the second time I took it I noticed the little collage backdrop on the results had my marker halfway between Adam Sandler and the I-5 Bandit...

Heh. I liked that chart. Too bad is doesn't show on this copy and paste. I think I'm sitting on The Donald's shoulder.
