Somehow I missed this must-read post from milblogger J.R. Salzman when it first went up two weeks ago: PTSD:
I'm more than a little angry right now. Yes, I'm irate that some sh-tbag Major ("sh-tbag" is often used as a technical term in the Army) opened fire on a group of his fellow Soldiers killing 12 and wounding 30. But that's not even what is under my skin right now. What is bothering me is the general reaction of our media and those stupid enough to think this was not an act of terrorism, but was caused by supposed PTSD caused at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Those who read this post will now have a basis for understanding what the children of Sderot have suffered. And Ashkelon.
Firstly the reality:
going to bed at night and not knowing if a real rocket will come crashing through the roof.
Those playing knowing that they have seconds to find some cover out in the school yard, the street etc.
Adults and their children knowing that they had to get out of their cars and lie prone on the ground away from the vehicle.
Daily for years.
And secondly:
the psychological aspects they have to deal with, the PTSD.
As a mental health professional I call foul on those that think this poor, benighted, stressed out fellow had PTSD.. Crap! Some have even called it PRE-Traumatic Stress Disorder from listening to soldiers with the real thing. Again, CRAP. A psychiatrist is trained in dealing with his own feelings working with mental health patients. If he couldn't, it would have to be a failure of his own professors, failure of each and every supervisor he ever had and the total failure of his own ethical standards adopted when he raised his hand and took the Hippocratic oath and his oath as an officer in the United States Army.
Hasan was a terrorist and a downright coward and needs to be found guilty and shot.
hasan is a devout muslim, as he states on his business cards, he sees his fellow servicemen as "the enemy".
hasan is a traitor, he sides with the enemy, and should be treated as such.
He did what al qada, taliban, enemy combatants, terrorists do.
He was pretty open about his beliefs and he was ignored by people who should have known better.
He was "telling" without being asked, but no one bothered to act preemptively.
Putting you head in the sand doesn't work. PC means more dead Americans.
How many other "hasans" are there?

I couldnt help myself, I am just reacting to Islamic aggression and invasion. The Muslims brought it on themselves.
