I could wax philosophical about this, maybe theorize on what this says about the Euro-Left and what their hatred has led them to begin believing, discuss press standards...but really, the truth is, how far up your own ass do you have to have your head to publish crap like this? Normal people will recognize these stories as classic organ-stealing urban mythology ("I knew a guy who knew a guy who got drunk one night, then woke up in a bath tub full of ice with a kidney missing...") combined with classic antisemitism in the form of the blood libel, added to the vivid and hate-filled fantasy life of the Palestinian Arabs meeting a dipshit Western journalist ready to be played for all he's worth (via Snapshots): Top Sweden newspaper says IDF kills Palestinians for their organs

A leading Swedish newspaper reported this week that Israeli soldiers are abducting Palestinians in order to steal their organs, a claim that prompted furious condemnation and accusations of anti-Semitic blood libel from a rival publication.

"They plunder the organs of our sons," read the headline in Sweden's largest daily newspaper, the left-leaning Aftonbladet, which devoted a double spread in its cultural section to the article.

(Click here for the original article in Swedish)

The report quotes Palestinian claims that young men from the West Bank and Gaza Strip had been seized by the Israel Defense Forces, and their bodies returned to the families with missing organs.

"'Our sons are used as involuntary organ donors,' relatives of Khaled from Nablus said to me, as did the mother of Raed from Jenin as well as the uncles of Machmod and Nafes from Gaza, who all had disappeared for a few days and returned by night, dead and autopsied," writes author Donald Boström in his report...

It reads like something straight out of Snopes. A rival paper did respond appropriately:

...But the liberal Sydsvenskan - southern Sweden's major daily - had harsh criticism for the rival paper, running an opinion piece under the headline "Antisemitbladet" (a play on the name Aftonbladet).

"We have heard the story before, in one form or the other. It follows the traditional pattern of conspiracy theory: a great number of loose threads that the theorist tempts the reader to tie into a neat knot without having been provided with any proven connection whatsoever," writes leading columnist Mats Skogkär of Sydsvenskan.

"Whispers in the dark. Anonymous sources. Rumors. That is all it takes. After all we all know what they [the Jews] are like, don't we: inhuman, hardened. Capable of anything," the opinion piece says. "Now all that remains is the defense, equally predictable: 'Anti-Semitism' No, no, just criticism of Israel."...

Indeed, but they've completely lost the thread and can no longer tell the difference.

» Swedish writer 'not sure' story's true at the blog Solomonia

So says the JPost in this article about the fallout from Aftonbladet's Donald Boström's now notorious and enthusiastic blood libel smear: Swedish writer 'not sure' story's true ..."I have a personal opinion, it concerns me that it's true," Donald Bostr... Read More

This is outrageous.

The Hamas fires upon Palestinians enroute to treatment in Israeli hospitals and a Swedish newspaper publishes a blood libel like this?

Somebody on Harry's mentioned in a comment the other day that the Arab/Israeli situation has gone far beyond reason.

That is a fact.

More proof that "the left", "progressives" are IDIOTS.

BTW, I will NEVER deal with the auto insurance company calling itself "progressive".

And then there's the nearby link to the equally wierd Zizek piece, excepting the latter is still more likely to be taken seriously by the chin-puller set. The mind boggles ...

Gotta love the AP:

"Israeli and Swedish officials responded furiously Wednesday to a Swedish newspaper article that suggested Israeli troops killed Palestinians and harvested their organs."

Suggested? It was a bit more than a suggestion, no?

I can confirm that the Israelis stole the Hammond organ from the Palestinian rock throwing group Stones For Allah.

Somebody on Harry's mentioned in a comment the other day that the Arab/Israeli situation has gone far beyond reason.

Sorry, that's been true for decades.

The late unlamented Arafat loved to concoct outrageous stories, out of thin air, for the purpose of inflaming passions and causing crowds to riot. Sometimes they made the foreign press, sometimes not. When it became clear that they were ridiculous lies, nobody ever criticized him for it; he smiled and moved on, until he felt like whipping out a new one.

I remember, for example, a persistent rumor that Israeli prostitutes, each carefully and deliberately infected with AIDS, were circulating among young Palestinian men. Another insisted that a particular Israeli coin, with an irregular roundish image on it, was really a map of Greater Israel, proving Israel's thirst for territorial conquest. (It was nothing of the sort; that coin, like all the others issued with it, had images of the equivalent Biblical-era coins on them.) Arafat also insisted that Israel's Knesset had a big map of Greater Israel behind the podium, which was (and is) utter nonsense.

His successors have followed cheerfully in his footsteps. (Remember the "Jenin massacre" that never happened? Remember the claims of Israel denying Palestinians hospital treatment, when in fact Israel has provided such treatment indiscriminately, while Hamas has stood in the way? Remember the claims of Israel's inhumanity during Operation Cast Lead, when the Israeli military telephoned military targets to let them know an attack was coming?)

Bluntly put, the Palestinian leadership will say anything, anything at all, that they perceive will give them an advantage.

Wow, this business of spreading baseless rumors is fun, isn't it?

But two can play at that game.

NEWS FLASH! According to a source I cannot name, Israeli soldiers have been callously harvesting the 'organs' of young Palestinian men.

The proof of this: only men missing their organs would be so cowardly as to attack schoolchildren and elderly grandparents, as Hamas and Fatah do all the time.

So when Western journalists claim that the Palestinians are forced to terror out of a sense of helpless impotence, they're literally correct.

In some cases, this outrage goes even further. There is an as-yet unproven rumor that, in the case of Mahmoud Abbas, his spine was removed as well. "You don't use it anyway", he supposedly was told.

I heard that Swedish Meatballs are made out of "organ" meat.

Bluntly put, the Palestinian leadership will say anything, anything at all, that they perceive will give them an advantage.

and Western media will back them up all the way.

All you people are idiots, standing up for isreal without any prior knowledge, this story has been circulating for quite a while now and it has also made front page in telafif as well as other places.

thats the jeruslam post confirming the story.

Next time dont kiss ass for your masters.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. They put "confirmed" in quotes for a reason. It's an indictment against the Arab Ma'an news as well as Denmark and the Netherlands who help fund it.
