"Syme: It's a beautiful thing, the destruction of words. You wouldn't have seen the [Newspeak] Dictionary 10th edition, would you Smith? It's that thick. [illustrates thickness with fingers] The 11th Edition will be that [narrows fingers] thick. Winston Smith: So, The Revolution will be complete when the language is perfect? Syme: The secret is to move from translation, to direct thought, to automatic response. No need for self-discipline. Language coming from here [the larynx], not from here

A few things as applied to Iran. Firstly, within the provided link, in the tab marked "Israel & its neighbors," there's another link at the bottom of the page titled "Read more: Israel's Requirement for defensible borders." It's a somewhat length paper on that subject by a Yaakov Amidror, one that takes historical, legal and contemporary/strategic considerations into view.
It's worth a well considered read since it does, obviously enough, help to ground the set of considerations that need to be taken into account and likewise it serves as counter-balance to the more delusional (not at all a hyperbolic description) thinking on the part of the softer left and the more deeply committed Left.
No one is being jingoistic, not remotely so, on this side of the equation, and any and all exciteability needs to be resolutely and absolutely eschewed. Still, given the delusional quality in the thinking of the current administration, even from the pov of its more tempered aspect, better groundings and more responsible thinking is needed, within hierarchies and among the demos as well.
Also Israel Matzav on the subject, here, here and here similarly provide well grounded and responsibly tempered perspective.
