On January 3, a Muslim (and presumably Leftist) crowd literally chases the Bobbies down the street screaming "Run you f*cking cowards! Allahu Akbar! Free, Free, Palestine!" Can this happen here? Arguably, it is happening here, if not yet manifesting itself in the streets in such an overt and apparent fashion. The fissures and erosions first take place within the realm of ideas and sensibilities, becomes variously popularized and disseminated, mores and conventions are impacted, erosions are furtherd, sympathies and commiserations within legislatures begin to take place, etc., etc.
Succombing to fear and coercions takes some initial steps and only later becomes something that is more habituated and and more broadly enculturated.
That's a very general statement only, not at all intended presumptively, to positively "know" the pulse of things, but it does reflect in a general sense how certain things proceed.
Five pro-Israel protestors.
Five hundred or more keffiyeh-wearing people.
One hundred to one.
I still think those are do-able odds.

THE SCENE
The protests began at around noon at Powell and Market, wandered through the downtown fifteen hundred strong(*), then ended up in front of the consulate at four thirty. I could hear the crowd screaming
'ba rooh, ba dam, nafdeek ya falasteen' as they passed by on Montgomery Street.
[* Fifteen hundred is an educated guess, but it might have been as many as two thousand.]
The five of us headed over to the consulate shortly afterwards, with three Israeli flags and three signs.
[Our signs: 'STOP ROCKETS FROM GAZA', 'HAMAS MUST BE DESTROYED', and 'HAMAS HAD IT COMING']
Once they saw us, the Palestinian side started screaming threats and insults, and one of them jumped up and down on an Israeli flag while erecting his middle digit. Shoes were also waved.
[They can't spit very far. At least not without significant blow-back.]
FRACAS
Several young Palestinian gallants started hitting one of our group (a middle-aged woman), at which point one of us rushed over and tried to break some ribs. Then the cops dragged us off, and tried to herd us away from the points of contact. Someone on the Palestinian side threw a handful of small change, and in addition to the middle-digit salute some of them made the money-grubbing gesture. Shortly afterwards the yelling mob crashed over the barriers screaming threats, and the cops had a fit - several officers pushed us inside a nearby building, where we were made to stay for a while, after which they drove us to somewhere else in a small caravan of police vehicles.

Right now, Britain is a lost cause. They don't have the backbone that they had to withstand the nazis. Even the British Navy was humbled, kowtowed, to the Islamofascist Regime of iran.
I don't think it could happen here (NYC). After the pro-Palestinian rally in Times Square last Sunday, there was some unrest, and the NYPD threw about 10 'youths' in jail. 7 officers were injured, and those injuries weren't from running.
And that was in NYC, which is famous for its nanny-statism and local laws against gun possession. Trying to intimidate cops wouldn't play in someplace like Peoria, or Dallas.
Britain has laws against self-defense that are extreme by American (or any reasonable) standards. These laws came into effect when Britain agreed to follow UN 'human rights' legislation. The police force there is known for being ineffective. The only American city that has comparable attitudes towards self defense is....umm.. San Francisco.
I don't get it ... why didn't the police simply try to reason with these protestors? Don't they understand ... these people are impoverished and vulnerable; they're constantly oppressed by the stronger Western powers. They need help not confrontation!
I don't know about NY ... but this is happening already in Boston. Go to a pro-Israel rally and see who the police restrain when the protestors start causing trouble.
I concur that when it does happen in the USA, it will happen first in San Francisco. They've already shown that their protests are violent and that they police do nothing but push the Jewish protestors into buildings "for their own good." They allow the pro-Arab protestors to throw punches and act out and do nothing. But the Jewish protestors... they can't even stand on the street without being accosted by the police and shoved out of site.

Just the usual double standard coming into the open. Nobody can say much in Britain without being hauled into court for defamation, disturbance of the peace or whatever, but the the Muslims and their fascist helpers can say what they like about Jews and even get away with murder (honour killings).
