MEMRI TV: Hamas Leader Khaled Mash'al: Our Proposal for Tahdiah ("Calm") Is Tactical

"If The Siege Is Not Lifted... We Will Explode In The Face Of Everybody" [Watch that!]

Khaled Mash'al: "Our only real motive for seeking tahdiah ['calm'] and for our willingness to deal with the Egyptians efforts, which were generated in order to achieve a tahdiah, with full knowledge of the Americans, of Rice, and David Welch, and through the efforts Egypt has exerted vis-à-vis the Israeli side, is to put an end to the aggression against our people in Gaza and the West Bank, and to get the siege lifted and the border crossings opened...

Etc., etc...Meshaal goes on and on with the most convoluted talk you've ever heard. Here's what it amounts to: They're terrorists. They want it all. They'll never be satisfied. They'll fight to the last Arab. This is what they live for. If you think that peace through negotiations is at hand, look closer, you're missing something. They don't believe in negotiated peace. They don't believe it's possible, and it wouldn't be compatible with their sense of honor to reach peace through compromise.

Here's what they think: Hamas criticizes US pronouncement of Israel as 'homeland of Jews'

Hamas expressed a vigorous objection on Sunday to resolutions passed in both houses of the United States Congress this week stating American support for Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people...

Here's what they think: Hamas leader: We won't rest until Jaffa, Haifa, Ashkelon are freed

Hamas leader Dr. Nizar Rian said that the organization will not put down its weapons until Jaffa, Haifa, Ashkelon, and all of the Palestinian cities are released, "and until Muslims return to pray at the mosques in those cities."...

But really, it's a regional issue: More from MEMRI TV:

Former Saudi Minister Ali Al-Namla: U.S. Supports Israel Because It Wants to Get Rid of the Jews

Lebanese Shiite Leader Ayatollah Muhammad Hussein Fadhlallah: Jews Extort Germany, Inflating Number of Holocaust Victims

The entire region (outside you-know-where, of course) is mentally ill, I swear.

This clip is not objective at all.
and it maniuplated the whole interview in a very bad way that will affect viewrs perciption of memritv foreever.

choosing what figure to show on memritv, is their right, if they are bad or good.

not bieng objective in viewing the whole interview, and bieg tendentious in portrying khaled meshal, reflecting simplified and stereotypical views famous in the west about hamas and khaled meshael is a big blow to memri tv.

they had the whole data( the whole interview, but they manuiplated it and simplified it more than needed and it doesnt respect the mind of any viewr .

the whole interview is a must not this manupilation .

I really thought memri to be more mind respecting, this went to far.

I say that not defending hamas.

this clip is acceptable from memri only if it doesnt resemble data that people can depend on.

Arabian, you have to learn better English before anybody can attempt to even come close to understanding what you're trying to say. Not that I care...

I have to agree with arabian here - the entire region (outside you-know-where, of course) is not mentally ill.

The Wahhabi-influenced fascists are all barking mad, (as they have been for decades) but outside of that group, people tend to be nice enough.

Nice enough to your face, willing to share tea, shake hands, treat you like a king in their homes...but the insane things they believe (not all, of course, but many...many) are right there below the surface, and has been long before the Wahhabi oil money made it even worse.

Maybe. But during the 50's and the 60's, a favorite comic-relief character on Egyptian TV was the drunken, flirty housewife. Women wore bikinis and short skirts. Their mothers couldn't imagine wearing a burka or a hijab. They considered that to be primitive, dressing like a nun.

During the early 20th century, Afghan women were flappers. The Muslim areas that were ruled by the Soviet union modernized and secularized. After we empowered the wahhabis by relying on their mujahideen, these Muslim areas became extremist, but who can say which is their 'natural' state.

Istanbul and Lebanon are about as sophisticated as Tel Aviv.

Back in the early 1920's, Winston Churchill said:

"In the vast deserts of Arabia, which stretch eastward and north-eastward from the neighbourhood of Mecca to the Persian Gulf and to the boundaries of Mesopotamia, there dwell the people of Nejd, powerful nomadic tribes, at the head of whom the remarkable chief Bin Saud maintains himself. This Arab chief has long been in a state of warfare, raid, and reprisal with King Hussein and with his neighbours generally. A large number of Bin Saud's followers belong to the Wahabi sect, a form of Mohammedanism which bears, roughly speaking, the same relation to orthodox Islam as the most militant form of Calvinism would have borne to Rome in the fiercest times of the religious wars. The Wahabis profess a life of exceeding austerity, and what they practise themselves they rigorously enforce on others. They hold it as an article of duty, as well as of faith, to kill all who do not share their opinions and to make slaves of their wives and children. Women have been put to death in Wahabi villages for simply appearing in the streets. It is a penal offence to wear a silk garment. Men have been killed for smoking a cigarette, and as for the crime of alcohol, the most energetic supporter of the temperance cause in this country falls far behind them. Austere, intolerant, well-armed, and bloodthirsty, in their own regions the Wahabis are a distinct factor which must be taken into account, and they have been, and still are, very dangerous to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and to the whole institution of the pilgrimage, in which our Indian fellow-subjects are so deeply concerned."

But the British didn't listen to Churchill or to T.E. Lawrence, who also opposed giving power to the Wahhabis. The Muslims and the Hindus knew what these extremists were about, but the British and the Americans still don't.

No no, didn't you HEAR President Peanut Farmer? They don't REALLY want to kill all the Jews. That's just what they're saying. Why, if Israel gives up all of the land it captured in the Six Day War, everything will be just hunky dory.

Just wait until the Dems capture the White House in November and disciple of President Peanut Farmer becomes the Sec. of State. Israel will really be screwed. Condoleeza Rice is bad enough, but what's going to happen will be much worse........
