Lots of updates about what's going on out west at Malkin's: Talk back to Berkeley: Sign the petition; Update: Troop-bashers go berserk, chain themselves to recruitment center; mayor wants to evacuate Marines
I like the sound of this:
Senator DeMint's staff is reporting that they have been contacted by many other Senators to co-author legislation to strip Berkeley of pork barrel spending totalling over $2 million for the City Council's outrageous attempts to run the USMC Recruiting office from it's Shattuck Avenue location.
Senator DeMint's office is just a few hours away from completing the final legislative draft.
On the Congressional side, Republican lawmakers are hearing from thousands of constituents about the efforts to silence the free speech rights of our troops by running the Marine Recruiting office out of town, and they are rushing to complete their own companion legislation. Move America Forward is urging people to contact Congressional representatives to keep the pressure on...
Update: Zombie has the must-see pictures straight from the scene.
You really have to see it to understand how detached from reality these people are. [via LGF]

1) You must have Javascript enabled in your browser in order to comment (blame the spammers). If you don't know what that is, you're probably fine.
2) HTML is on, so basic html should work. Raw links will be made auto-clickable, too, so even if you don't know html you can just paste in the link and it should work fine. Keep the "http://" in it.
3) Comments are generally unmoderated, which means I don't necessarily agree with the tone and tenor of everything posted. In fact, sometimes people post things they don't really mean just to make other people look bad. The internet is an anonymous place for the most part. That said...

It may pay to recall a famous line from the Tom Selleck magnum opus, Mr. Baseball: "Jack-san, you want Yoji's advice about the babes, you come to Yoji with respect."
5) Enjoy your stay!

Remember, the military dosen't do anything till told by Washington. Remember, the congress dodged the bullet after 9/11 and told the president to do the work so they could deny they were for it later.
I am a 5th generation Californian. I come from a long line of people who believe in Freedom of Speech and protection of our Country. For example, my Grandfather, Father, Husband, my Son, and Myself have all served within the military. I truly believe that people have the right to protest the war in Iraq. My Son-in-Law will be there again for the second time in a month. But people should protest the war to the people who are making war; the politicians need to be voted out of office and the companies who are profiting on this war need to be investigated for corruption.
The Marines are our fighting force who protect and serve us. Stop being idiots against them and go after the real criminals and warmongers. Think before acting, or maybe the protestors have forgotten how to think? What about you?
