Your agenda-journalism doesn't protect you when the bad-guys show up (whether or not you believe in bad guys): Johnston: Kidnapping 'was surreal'
...At one point the leader of the group, his face still hidden by the kefiyeh, talked to him, a conversation that sapped his morale. "Some people in the Western world have stereotypical views of Arabs from the Middle East and sadly this man lived up to this stereotype. No matter when I gave him my speech about working in Gaza for three years to help put across the Palestinian story, he said I was a Westerner and that was that in his eyes and I was worthy of punishment. He had a very black and white view of the world."...
Johnston must be congratulated on his release. No one should suffer because of what they are.
But I disagree with the degree of adulation and beatification which the BBC bestows on him and Hamas. Johnston should be aware that when he says:
"He had a very black and white view of the world."...
he might as well be describing his own, and his masters' black and white view of the world: Palestinian-good, Israel-bad.
The wierd part about this kidnapping is that Johnston is on Hamas's side.
Imagine if a bunch of Nazis has kidnapped Oswald Mosley in 1936, after his wedding to Diana Mitford in Joseph goebbels drawing room in 1936 (Hitler was a guest.) There were lots of Britssh fascists, easily as many as there are now British anti-Israel activists like Johnston.
I have listened with mixed feelings to the celebratins of his release because, in the end, there is a very fine line between the murderers of Hamas and the propagandists like Johnston who shill for them.
Goebbles didn't kill anyone. Neither has Johnston.
O.K. Let me get this straight, He has, by his own admission, been "working in Gaza for three years to help put across the Palestinian story" and when he is confronted by that Palestinian story in the flesh and his betrayal of truth and reason fails to exempt him and pay his ransom, he is astounded. And still he can't quite get his poor feeble mind around the fact that IT IS NOT A STEREOTYPE! YOU IDIOT, THEY ARE REALLY THAT WAY...
