He Really Doesn't Want to Be Commander In Chief - 'It is not that we didn't know this before, but reading the New York Times - surely designed to be as favorable toward Obama as the reporter could possibly manage -- one is left slack-jawed. Obama doesn't like being commander in chief, isn't good at it, and has relied one tutor, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who is leaving next year. The report should be read in full...'

He is the Community Organizer in Chief. Redistributing Wealth is what Obama is interested in.

BHO may not have been the first recent president to not make his appearance at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, but people resented it with this guy. People get it that he doesn't like being Commander in Chief, that he doesn't understand the military or the people who serve. The feeling is mutuial; they don't identify with him. He's not "one of us. It's palpable.

Here's an email message by a retired officer is a powerful expression of that sentiment. It's been circulating all summer and has been posted posted on a whole bunch of web sites, including here, where it's paired with a picture captioned "Obama covers his nuts while every one salutes the flag!" (Maybe he's watching out for Jesse. Jesse picked up on it early, but he's not alone in thinking that Dear Leader is talking down them.) This landed in Nappy's Inbox yesterday.

Dear Mr. Obama,

Thank you for not going to Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day. There is something very sacred about that place and about that day. Those who bled and died for this country deserve to be honored and saluted by people who love their country and honor their sacrifice.

You don't belong there.

Thank you for realizing that and going to Chicago.
