This is just a quick link to follow -- an "aside." These are links to interesting things that, for one reason or another, I didn't place into a full posting. Go to the blog index for a regular listing of posts.

Alex Grobman: Many Church Leaders Remain Silent While Palestinian (Christian) Arabs Suffer At The Hands of Muslims - 'On December 11, 2009, a group of Palestinian Christian leaders issued a 13 page document known as "Kairos Palestine-2009: A moment of truth." Having "reached a dead end" because of the "Israeli military occupation," the leaders appealed to churches worldwide to treat Israel as they had apartheid South Africa by divestment and economic boycott. Given that the authors of this document include Patriarch Emeritus Michel Sabbah from the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Lutheran Bishop of Jerusalem Munib Younan, Archbishop of Sebastia Atallah Hanna from the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, we should not be surprised with this distorted description of the plight of Christian Arabs in Gaza, Judea and Samaria...'

Hey, thanks! (I almost deleted your message as spam since so many of those start with a compliment like that. An unprecedented number have been getting through the spam filter lately.)

what kind of suffiring?

so because christian muslims immigrate to the western world then they suffer? maybe u should read freaceconomics and learn creative thinking. other reasons may lay behind this other than this cliche. +
church leaders are luying?
go to sleep dude. your having bad dreams nobody is suffering except arabs by the zionest state and the resont burning of a mosque in the west bank sic.(judea and samaria ) by illegal settelrs that should not be settled in the arab ME

arabian, go to mecca/makka and dance around the kabba until you get so dizzy that you pray facing West.

"If it is true that Jews committed this crime, this is clearly madness and is rejected not only by the overwhelming majority of the people of Israel but also by the overwhelming majority of the approximately 300,000 Jews who live in the settlements. Local Jewish religious leaders attempted to visit Yasuf to express their condolences, but they were prevented from going there.

But if you really wanted to get a feel for how differently the two communities think about these things, ask yourself what would happen if, instead of a mosque, a synagogue had been burned down. But this is not a hypothetical question.

In October 2000, at the start of the Palestinians’ second intifada, the Tomb of Joseph, a Jewish holy site in Nablus that served as a synagogue and religious school, was literally torn to pieces by an Arab mob. As Palestinian Authority “police” looked on, the mob destroyed the building and burned the sacred texts inside. But instead of treating the crime as an embarrassment to the national cause, among Palestinians it was treated as a cause for celebration. Another ancient synagogue in Jericho was also burned down that month. And even before the intifada, the Tomb of Rachel, a Jewish shrine near Bethlehem, was subjected to continual attacks. It had to be surrounded by fortifications to keep both the building and worshipers from harm."

"Arab educator and a essayist Khalil al-Sakakini witnessed the eruption of violence in the Old City:
" A riot broke out, the people began to run about and stones were thrown at the Jews. The shops were closed and there were screams... I saw a Zionist soldier covered in dust and blood... Afterwards, I saw one Hebronite approach a Jewish shoeshine boy, who hid behind a sack in one of the wall's comers next to Jaffa Gate, and take his box and beat him over the head. He screamed and began to run, his head bleeding and the Hebronite left him and returned to the procession... The riot reached its zenith. All shouted, "Muhammad's religion was born with the sword"... I immediately walked to the municipal garden... my soul is nauseated and depressed by the madness of humankind." (Source: Khalil al-Sakakini, Such am I, Oh World! , quoted by Benny Morris , Righteous Victims ) "

Arabian here does not have a clue about the meaning of human rights. I am always glad he is posting his opinions, so crude and blunt as they are, for those who remain sceptic about what the teachings of Islam does to its followers.

As Wafa Sultan said:

"When I examined the Koran, the hadith, and the Islamic books under a microscope, I came to the absolute conviction that it is impossible – impossible! – for any human being to read the biography of Muhammad and believe in it, and yet emerge a psychologically and mentally healthy person

[...]

The language of Islam is a negative, dead language, replete with violence, anger, hatred, and racism. Man is the product of language, the outcome of the negative and positive language to which he is exposed in this lifetime. If his life is dominated by negative language, he will emerge as a negative, reckless, and non-productive person, who rejects everything. On the other hand, if positive language dominates his life, he will emerge as a positive, happy, and productive person. This is why the negative language of Islam has failed. It has failed to produce people with a spontaneous and positive outlook. It has produced negative people. If we take a look at Islamic societies, we see what that negative man did. "

It's also possible that people in Arabia and elsewhere in the Middle East simply don't have access to books like Righteous Victims in Arabic. Many Arabs speak and read English and other languages but many probably do not - so the history and current events are inaccessible to them.

I think once people have access to knowledge attitudes will change.

As an example how many people in the Middle East understand about the withdrawal from Gaza and how that immediately turned sour? let alone longer-range history of the Jews and Christians and other minorities in the Middle East?

If "facts" are coming from official propaganda outlets like PressTV and/or Judaism is considered inferior per se how can people possibly be unbiased?

Mrs.noga.... you once said that christians who
dont condemn islam or who share arab muslims views suffer from stockholm syndrome(sic).... remember ? and Mr.alex says that arab chrsitian leaders are layers . so why dont you replace arabs christians and become their PR speakers.

I guess you both like big time drama.....a book with a blunt title agianst islam by a convert from islam to christianity...or a hollywood movie about a christian arab crying and sad music all through the movie and muslims slaughtering christians and raping according to mr. alex. these images are residing in your mind about how muslims treat christians...and if you read the opposite it makes you feel wrong which is a bad feeling.

but if a chruch leader says christians are doing well. its doesnt have bruce lee or jaki chan drama.

thats the case and I am not exaggerating.

its the greatest insult to christian leaders to say they dont defend their people.

"Mrs.noga.... you once said that christians who

No. Can you provide a link where I said it?

Ah. Here is what I said:

http://www.solomonia.com/blog/archive/2009/11/the-plight-of-arab-christians/index.shtml#comment-48546

And here is the comment I was referring to:

"While I agree that our numbers in the region are falling, the Christians in the Arab world are not immigrating in any larger number than their Muslim compatriots. Yes, there may be a perceived sense of fear and alienation among Christians in some countries but that sense of fear and alienation afflicts other communities in those countries.... In areas where there are no conflicts, some Christians do immigrate because they feel they may not be safe in the future, but their numbers are matched by Muslims who also immigrate for the same or other reasons."

Numbers of Christians fleeing Muslim lands are matched, according to the author, by numbers of Muslims fleeing Muslim lands. She does not even look at the proportionality: a few thousands of Muslims from among the 400 millions of Arab Muslims are equated with a few thousands of Christians from among some 20 million.

She concedes that "Yes, there may be a perceived sense of fear and alienation among Christians in some countries" but then goes to explain that this is not unique to the Christian experience "... sense of fear and alienation afflicts other communities in those countries".

These are apologetics provided by dhimmi mentality to curry favour with the fabled Arab street, which does not tolerate any deviation from the grand narrative it tells itself in order to maintain some sort of self-esteem in today's world.

shouldn't we also take in proportion the 400 million muslims suffering under tyrants? dont you think that muslims suffer more than christians lool.
the problem is that she "the author" is an arab christian, but you dont believe her and you say she suffers from manifstations of stocklhome syndorim.

as hitler said:
propaganda task is not to make objective study of the truth, its task is to serve our own right (in your case to show arab and muslims as intolerant and terrorists ) always and unflinchingly.

mrs.noga
mr.alex
dont look at facts, they are propgandents that think christians should be dissidents and subverts with the western news agensiec to villifiy arabs and muslims. if they are like wafa dollar and the other shits then they are truthfull, otherwise they are "layers" or "syndromic"

the arab blood of christians will always previal and your propoganda and wanting to "use" them will fail..

I have one word for you....I pass by a book on the people of dhimma in the library (6 volumes) and never opend it. because simply the countries of the middle east legislation's and constitutions are crafted by western colonozing countries, they merely touch on the subject of dhimmi issue or alcohol or any other issue, they are secular.. the only country that applies shariee law is the country of the lion of the peninsula(ibn saud)..and you know what..its a 100% muslim country

I really feel sorry for you when your life ends as a propoganda instead of following the truths.
