This is just a quick link to follow -- an "aside." These are links to interesting things that, for one reason or another, I didn't place into a full posting. Click the link to visit the full article. Go to the blog index for a regular listing of posts.

Maya Wind and Netta Mishly, Two 18-Year-Old Israelis On Tour - 'When I first heard that two 18-year-old Israeli girls, Maya Wind and Netta Mishley, were on a month-long tour sponsored by Code Pink and Jewish Voice for Peace, I wondered what the girls would say. Maya and Netta are here to tell everyone why they refuse to serve in the Israeli army. No country is perfect, including Israel, so I assumed that because two radical groups were hosting them, they would focus on Israel's blemishes by giving the typical one-sided presentations that omit history and context, particularly terrorism, and exaggerate Israel's flaws. I imagined that they would end their presentations by saying: "Wait! Now that we have created ill will against Israel, there is something you can do! You can help us promote BDS. Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions against Israel!" That is, after all, the usual pattern of presentations given by the extremist anti-Israel groups. They did not disappoint my expectations...' [What did you guys do after graduation? 'Oh, we committed treason.' Great!]

I heard them in Berkeley- where they repeatedly asserted that the green line was the official internationally recognized border

They also mentioned women are discriminated against in Israel, and that it wasn't a real democracy. They claimed the number of women in the Israeli Knesset is only 15%, which of course isn't true- women constitute 17.5% of the Knesset, higher than the US (16.8%) or Russia (14%)or Japan (9.4%), and much higher than any country with which Israel shares a border.

Their handlers at Jewish Voice for Peace and Code Pink just beamed.

Jewish Voice for Peace?

Where is Muslim Voice for Peace?

Hanging at the end of a rope in Gaza/Tehran/South Lebanon?

Of course any 18 year old has the right to say they don;t want to serve in the army, but when they go on tour telling blatant lies and dispensing misinformation there is a simple word for it TREASON

It is time they were fully exposed back in israel so that anyone who has the misfortune to have them as fellow students at university and later colleagues in the workplace will know they are not to be trusted or respected.
they should be totally ashamed of their dishonesty and disloyalty
