Joseph Puder: 'National Geographic' And Bethlehem 2007 - '...Rev. William Harter, as a Presbyterian pastor of a large church in Pennsylvania, has frequently visited Bethlehem and other Christian communities in the West Bank and has described to this writer and to the U.S. State Department the plight of Palestinian Christians. In private conversations Rev. Harter has pointed out that these Christian folks "pour out their hearts to you." They express fear for their families and mention the intimidation: violence and daily harassment they are subjected to at the hands of the Palestinian Authority and various Islamic terrorist groups belonging to Hamas as well as Fatah. "Publicly, however," Rev. Harter added, "They prefer the safe and obligatory route of criticizing 'Israeli occupation.'"...'
