I have worked as a nurse until quite recently in a number of hospital in Saudi Arabia and Oman since 1973. Never did I come across any such requirements for turning beds towards Mecca at prayer time. The only time we ever turned a bed towards Mecca was if a patients was "in extremis" and at the point of death. I am now living in Malaysia, and when I told this to my Muslims friends they laughed and said "can you imagine our local hospital turning the beds of all the patients towards Mecca five time a day". You lot in UK must be out of your minds. There is nothing in Islam that says you must dot this".
