I think he's right that anti-Americanism doesn't run nearly as deeply as is made out, but his "proof" from Nicholas Sarkozy's election is pretty foolish. John Howard just lost his election, Tony Blair was shoved out of office and one leftist nut after another has been elected in Latin America -- does that mean that anti-Americanism has suddenly become rampant?
The reality is that the French don't choose a prime minister by their views of the US any more than we worry about whether Hillary Clinton is more pro-France than John Edwards.
