Here's an excellent floor speech by Democrat Senator Bob Menendez that's been making the rounds:

He's so unnanced.

Would have been nice, would have been more than merely "nice," to hear some of this moral and existential clarity in Cairo, in lieu of the "hope this makes everyone feel good" equivocation and preachment we did hear. I still do not understand in any sense why that Cairo speech was deemed a solid effort; no one does equivocal seduction like Mr. Teleprompter.

Compare and contrast RR, via PowerLine. Obama needs to comprehend the all-critical fact that moral and simple intellectual clarity are not at all the same thing as undue bellicosity or some type of ethnocentric jingoism. Both as applied to Iran and as applied to Israel, Obama is the ultimate feel-good nowhere man, Mr. Nullibiety, a power vacuum waiting and almost expecting to be filled. Given the historical moment, that's a reasonable characterization.

Dear Senator Menendez.

You made my eyes tear! what a speech that covered history. you did what many didn't do before you!!
I thank you for your honest good work.
Ephraim.

An outstanding and inspiring speech...And, in this time in history when is too p.c. to denounce Israel, that you spoke and the words you shared
are so important.........

Also, the courage you show, after we have heard
words which were untrue, and diminished Israel, are
much more significant.

Thank you~

for so many of us.

Honorable Senator Menendez:

How can any American thank you enough for standing tall with a voice of truth and accuracy. In a world of ever increasing left wing negative media bias towards Israel and our own great countries democratic principles, your voice is a beacon of hope for all who value liberty.

Dear Senator Menendez

Beautiful speech! Its about time someone has the guts to say what needed to be said. Although I don't agree with democrats on most other issues, your speech was timely, accurate and simply honest. Way to go!!!

Senator,
Thank you for your courage and support for Israel. However, if you speak of history and truth it must be also stated that the land for Israel in the mandate includes Judea and Samaria (West Bank) and Gaza. Jordan was created as the Arab state. This was designated by the League of Nations and accepted by the UN when it became the new governing body. If you really want to help Israel, indeed, if we really want to help ourselves, another Hamas/Hizbullah state cannot be allowed in Judea and Samaria. We should all be fighting for Israel to have the land it was given and for the Arab states, especially Jordan to give these people a home and stop using our taxpayer dollars to support these would-be terrorist states. How long can they be called refugees? The money and support given to Hamas/Gaza and PA controlled territory is in direct violation of UN Resolution 1373 which commits member states to "refrain from providing any form of support, active or passive, to entities or persons involved in terrorist acts.... to "deny safe haven to those who finance, plan, support, or commit terrorist acts or provide safe haven" to those who do. If any damage done by Israel in retaliation for rocket attacks on her cities is followed by billions of dollars in international aid - what is the incentive to stop the attacks. What the US does simply encourages terror to continue! These are not innocent people - they voted in Hamas and would slaughter everyone in Israel if they could. They teach their children to murder and praise them when they do. What are are representatives thinking????? America needs to get on the right track and fight terrorism not appease it. Please help America to stand strong again!

Thank you so much! In a world of distortions, lies, denials and horrible events, you are a beacon of light. May G-d reward you and yours.

Bayefsky provides another illuminating compare and contrast, subtitled Why Couldn't the US President Talk Tough in Cairo like he did to the Africans. It's aptly summarized via the following excerpt, emphasis added:

"The disparity between the scolding he gave in Ghana and the love-in he held in Cairo illuminates an incoherent and dangerous agenda."

Well said Mr. Senator. I especially note the 750,000 jews from Arab lands displaced by the 1948 war. Today's news makers don't talk about these people. They have no UN refugee camps to go to. No one is calling for their homes to be returned or reparations given. How many know that the Jewish quarter in the old city of Jerusalem has no jews? They too were killed or uprooted and their synagogues destroyed.

Israel is the only beacon of light in the Middle East. It's truly sad that Arab oil causes the rest of the world to try to snuff it out.

Congratulations for you courage. samuel Brener. sbrener2globo.com.
