Why shouldn't the Islamic Resistance Movement declare victory?

  1. They're still in charge of Gaza.
  2. They still have lots of rockets, which will start flying again as soon as the heat's off them.
  3. Nothing's been done to prevent Hamas from bringing in more weapons and munitions through the tunnels.
  4. The buzz in the international press is still about Israeli aggression and disproportionate response -- as if what Israel did were anything at all like Britain's firebombing of Dresden in retaliation for the V-2 rockets that hit London. Israel's hasbarah was much better than in the war with Lebanon's Party of God (Hizb'Allah) two years ago, but it's still the propaganda for Hamas, apologetics for terror and condemnation of Israel that dominate the lame-stream media outlets such as NPR, BBC, Reuters, NY Times and the rest.
  5. Israel will have completed its withdrawal just in time for Barack Hussein Obama's coronation.
  6. We still hear the mantra from our government -- and this is while W is still President -- of the "Two-State Solution" as if there were someone to speak for all the Palestinian Arabs, as if this were just a territorial dispute. No one seems no notice the stench from the rotting corpse of the "Peace Process." Rather than admit the colossal failure of Oslo, the idea is to keep on going as if it were a viable option.
The Black Knight may never fight again, but it seems that the common view of Hamas is that there's a "militant wing" and the good guys who run clinics and schools. Why doen't we hear about the retrograde and repressive nature of the Hamas government, another Taliban or Iranian mullahcracy.

Btw, didn't Abu Mazen's term in office expire last week?

to add to the comments above, Shalit was not saved or released, either.
