A good pundit or blogger doesn't know the word. They just forge ahead and tell you what they think you should believe whether they really know what the hell they're talking about or not. I'm usually a bit more cautious. Jeff Jacoby both hits the nail on the head and makes a larger point (the issue of being wrong isn't really his point here, at least not his main point: Don't believe everything you read.

Of course, I beat Jeff because I knew that Bush wouldn't get any "credit" for the surge. THing is, sometimes it doesn't matter. Credit or not, the mission is the goal if you believe in it, good press be damned.
