I took a few pics of the lunar eclipse tonight. Just my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 and a tripod. Never tried taking night time pics before, but I think I'll have a little better idea of the technique next time...there's...a lunar eclipse. Anyway, you can get an idea of the color. (In the extended entry.)

2) HTML is on, so basic html should work. Raw links will be made auto-clickable, too, so even if you don't know html you can just paste in the link and it should work fine. Keep the "http://" in it.
3) Comments are generally unmoderated, which means I don't necessarily agree with the tone and tenor of everything posted. In fact, sometimes people post things they don't really mean just to make other people look bad. The internet is an anonymous place for the most part. That said...
4) I welcome you to post here. I'd love to have your input, agree, disagree or just offer a different data point, really. If I didn't want any participation, I'd turn off comments. Be aware, however, that this blog and the comments section exist for my entertainment. Thanks! No, I think that might have been part of the problem. While I had a nice stable tripod, I probably should have set the timer, too, so that every last vibration was out before the shutter opened.

My stepdaughter and I tried for quite a while to get decent shots, without success. (We didn't have a tripod available.)
Oh man - that was beautiful. When it was full and only the crescent of brilliant silver-white "earthglow" remained, it was just magic.
Friends from all over the country were looking too, in different timezones - in Israel though one my friends had just gotten off work, at dawn, and the moon had already set.
Still it was fun to think of people spanning the globe, all delighted by this glorious sight.
