They don't mind taking advantage of Israeli technological breakthroughs, and some Arabs wouldn't mind being protected by an Israeli nuclear umbrella: Gulf Arabs see Israel stopping Iran bomb
Gulf states believe Israel will destroy Iran's nuclear programme rather than allow it to acquire an atomic bomb, an adviser to the Kuwaiti government and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) said on Tuesday.
If Iran did build the bomb, said adviser Sami Alfaraj, then the Jewish state might be one of the countries -- along with the United States and Pakistan -- Gulf Arab nations would ask to provide a "nuclear umbrella" to guarantee their security.
Alfaraj, president of the Kuwait Centre for Strategic Studies, said Israel might bomb Iranian nuclear facilities in the same way it destroyed Iraq's main atomic reactor at Osirak with a military strike in 1981.
"I believe in something on the same Iraqi model...We are assuming in the Gulf that Israel will take it out. We are not saying that, but Israel would," Alfaraj told Reuters at the start of an analyst 'roadshow' organised by Realite-EU, an independent body which tracks Middle East security developments...
Maybe Israel should start demanding something in return for all this largess.

1) You must have Javascript enabled in your browser in order to comment (blame the spammers). If you don't know what that is, you're probably fine.
2) HTML is on, so basic html should work. Raw links will be made auto-clickable, too, so even if you don't know html you can just paste in the link and it should work fine. Keep the "http://" in it.
3) Comments are generally unmoderated, which means I don't necessarily agree with the tone and tenor of everything posted. In fact, sometimes people post things they don't really mean just to make other people look bad. The internet is an anonymous place for the most part. That said...
4) I welcome you to post here. I'd love to have your input, agree, disagree or just offer a different data point, really. If I didn't want any participation, I'd turn off comments. It may pay to recall a famous line from the Tom Selleck magnum opus, Mr. Baseball: "Jack-san, you want Yoji's advice about the babes, you come to Yoji with respect."

...yes, please take out the Iranian bomb. And tomorrow we'll prepare a UN resolution to condemn you. Thanks a lot.
Does this mean we exist?

Under Israel's current leadership the Israeli's are too weak to be on the offensive. The Olmert administration barks a lot but other than that they'll take no action against Iran's nuclear ambitions.
There was a memorable comment, early on in the 2003 invasion of Iraq (link (a href="http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/857368/posts">here) --
A well-known religious leader at the central mosque in the regional capital, Suleimaniyah, says "I welcome even the Jew Sharon if he can liberate us from Saddam."
When you're running for your life -- or think you're about to be -- antisemitism can take a back seat, it seems. Interesting.
Sorry. Here's the link I meant.
