Hamas Lion King, Fatah rats. Just another day with Hamas kid's TV. Who knew not only Jews could be rats?

I kept waiting for Nahoul to pop in and chuck a rock at the lion.

MEMRI TV: Hamas-Style Lion King Vanquishes Fatah Rats in an Al-Aqsa TV Animated Film

The following is a clip produced by the Hamas Al-Aqsa TV, styled after the Lion King, in which Fatah members are depicted as rats, while Hamas is portrayed as a lion.

Voice of Muhammad Dahlan: "Snipers or no snipers – move back, and let Hamas shoot me."

Great, another copywright violation here. This time from The Lion King, I suppose. They'll be forced to delete the lion and replace him with his "cousin," the... the... elephant?

This cartoon is pretty crude stuff. I guess that's their norm.

Two further points:
1. At least they showed Fatah correctly, the Mafia-like corruption. They put it more harshly than any Israeli would.

2. The cartoon unwittingly showed another aspect of a culture that laughs at torturing cats or thinks nothing at hiding behind civilians, including children: The climax of the story is the fight between a lion and rats. Not between two big, strong animals, but between the King of the Jungle and little rats. We're not seeing a fight between equals or nearly equals.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I've never seen a lion used before in fiction to squelch tiny animals that could've been gotten rid of by an exterminator. So, it's not about the strong Good prevailing against a challenging Evil, or about David vs. Goliath here. It's about the strong prevailing against the weak, and evil weak but weak all the same.

I just make the connection between this strangeness and their lack of compunction at making civilians their main target.
