Nice little interview by Ayaan Hirsi Ali with an anti-American Canadian interviewer:
I keep imagining John Kerry sitting in the same chair spending all his time apologizing, and here's this newcomer who does a better job representing America than people who have lived here all their lives.

1) You must have Javascript enabled in your browser in order to comment (blame the spammers). If you don't know what that is, you're probably fine.
2) HTML is on, so basic html should work. Raw links will be made auto-clickable, too, so even if you don't know html you can just paste in the link and it should work fine. Keep the "http://" in it.
3) Comments are generally unmoderated, which means I don't necessarily agree with the tone and tenor of everything posted. In fact, sometimes people post things they don't really mean just to make other people look bad. The internet is an anonymous place for the most part. That said...
4) I welcome you to post here. I'd love to have your input, agree, disagree or just offer a different data point, really. If I didn't want any participation, I'd turn off comments. It may pay to recall a famous line from the Tom Selleck magnum opus, Mr. Baseball: "Jack-san, you want Yoji's advice about the babes, you come to Yoji with respect."
5) Enjoy your stay!

No, Avi, There' no school that teaches reverence for the greatest social experiment in democracy and equality anymore. Is there a school where they teach moral blindness and pathetic Canadian envy of America or are you just soooo special?
When Avi Lewis, the interviewer, accused Hirsi Ali of stating simplistic cliches, the obvious retort was that he was doing the exact same thing.
I especially rolled my eyes when he said that THEY shoot abortion doctors in America. I can see it now: a government-ordered execution of abortion doctors in the mall in Washington, DC, performed by the National Guard. Sure. Happens every day.
I have, since writing my latest post http://breathofthebeast.blogspot.com/2007/07/cultural-insanity-part-i-diagnosis.html about the insanity of the left, observed that the lefties and Islamists employ a form of argumentation that I think may be a kind of "splitting" or "dissociation". They insist, as Avi Lewis does in this interview, on comparing Israel, America and The West to a utopian standard of perfection rather than to the rest of the (squalid and reprehensible) real world that is so much less desirable than America. This begs the question which Hirsi Ali asks this dope- "why don't you move somewhere else?" He'll never say it but there IS no other place that he could tolerate or that would tolerate him.
