Thoughts on Burning Stuff

After a week of listening to and reading too many responses to Terry Jones’s burning of the Koran and the murderous rampages in Afghanistan that used it as an excuse, I have a few thoughts of my own on the subject, and they don’t happen to mesh with too much else that I’ve read or […]

Radical Islam for Dummies

It would have been hard to find an American outside the 30-person congregation of Rev. Terry Jones who even knew that he burned a Koran last week. But thanks to the Internet, this nutcase was able to post a video on the Internet, with Arabic sub-titles, showing him burning a copy of the Koran. The […]

Audio: Conference Call with Dr. Zuhdi Jasser

Rabbi David Kaufman has posted the audio from a just slightly over one-hour conference call with Zuhdi Jasser. There are approximately 1.4 billion Muslims on the planet who aren’t going anywhere. In order for there to be any hope of creating and even exporting a freedom-protecting version of Islam, we need to encourage and empower […]

Sheikh Qaradawi Seeks Total War

Sheikh Qaradawi Seeks Total War – ‘Mark Gardner and Dave Rich did yeoman’s work not long ago, analyzing the Egyptian cleric Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi’s 2003 book, Fatawa Min Ajl Falastin, or Fatwas on Palestine, and came to the conclusion that this putatively moderate Islamic cleric argues clearly and consistently that hatred of Israel and Jews […]

Tariq Ramadan, Your Grandfather Was a Colonialist

In a recent article appearing in The New York Times, apologist for the Muslim Brotherhood Tariq Ramadan portrayed his grandfather, Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood as an anti-colonialist. This is simply not true. Al-Banna was a self-proclaimed colonialist. His own writings prove it.

Michael J. Totten: From San Francisco to Sarajevo – ‘Stephen Schwartz was raised a communist in the San Francisco Bay Area and once worked for the Cubans. Why Won’t “The Beautiful People” See the Radical Islamist Threat?

I don’t understand why Westerners feel the need to become apologists for a revolutionary Islamism that opposes all their rights and values. Many Arabs and Muslims, who have first-hand experience with Islamism, think this is nuts. Thus, Nicholas Krostof, who is saved from being the worst Western journalist writing about the Middle East only by […]

Tarek Heggy: The Reality of the Muslim Brotherhood

Tarek Heggy: The Reality of the Muslim Brotherhood – ‘The Muslim Brotherhood was launched in 1928 to restore a caliphate, a global religious government aimed at fighting the “non-believers” (specifically, Christians, Hindus, and Jews) and at spreading Islam. Egypt: With Ludicrous Lies The Muslim Brotherhood Shows Its Contempt for West

I’m fascinated by the op-ed in the New York Times by Tariq Ramadan. It is so amazingly false and puts forward such ludicrous claims that the whole thing seems to shout out: You people in the West are so stupid and such huge suckers that you’ll swallow anything! I admire good craftsmanship. If Ramadan–who, let’s […]

CEMB plea

CEMB plea – ‘As I’ve argued before, one of the key effects of the ridiculous term Islamophobia is to conflate the person and the belief. It reinforces the idea that Islam isn’t a set of dogmas that can be put aside, but is rather an essential and inviolable part of the life of every Muslim. Once a Muslim, always a Muslim; and […]
